What will Meta charge you for WhatsApp next month?
Put in your monthly volumes. This works the bill out from Meta's published rate card — volume tiers walked rung by rung, the 1,000 free service messages applied per number, and free entry-point windows taken off. No sign-up, no email, no result hidden behind a form.
Meta's bill
Your month
Meta charges by the recipient's country calling code, not by where your business is.
Meta gives every business number 1,000 free service messages a month. They reset monthly and do not roll over.
A click-to-WhatsApp conversation opens a free entry-point window of up to 7 days. Inside it Meta charges nothing for marketing, utility, authentication or service messages, and those messages do not count toward volume tiers.

Rate each is the effective rate after volume tiers, so it drops below the list rate once a ladder is in play.

Only templates that genuinely report on a transaction, account, appointment or request qualify. Meta categorises the template, not you.
The lever
Category routing is the biggest line item you control.
Marketing and utility templates can carry the same sentence. Meta prices them differently, and the gap is not small. In Egypt a marketing template costs $0.0644 and a utility template costs $0.0036 — about eighteen times. Write the message as a transaction update, get it categorised as utility, and the same 10,000 sends cost $36 instead of $644.

What the calculator applies
Meta's rules, in the order they bite
Meta charges on delivery, and never for messages your customers send you.
Delivery, not sending
Meta charges for a delivered message. Messages your customers send you are never charged.
Free entry-point windows come off first
If the conversation started from a click-to-WhatsApp ad, Meta charges nothing for up to 7 days and those messages never accrue toward a volume tier.
Then the free service allowance
1,000 service messages per business phone number per calendar month, no roll-over. Charging starts at the 1,001st.
Then volume tiers, utility and authentication only
Each market has its own ladder, and utility and authentication have different thresholds. A rung's rate applies to the messages inside that rung, not to everything you sent.
Marketing and service are never tiered
They are charged at the list rate for the market, however many you send.

Assumptions this calculator makes
- 01
- Every message in a category is delivered. Undelivered messages are not charged, so a real bill is lower than a perfect-delivery estimate.
- 02
- The free entry-point share you type is applied evenly across all four categories.
- 03
- The free service allowance is applied after the free entry-point window, to the service messages that remain.
- 04
- All your volume goes to one market. Mixed-market months cost the weighted average of each market's own bill.
- 05
- Tax is excluded. Several markets add VAT on Meta's invoice; Egypt adds 14%.
- 06
- Meta Business Agent messages are excluded. Those are Meta's own AI, billed per token, and BlendDesk does not use them.
FAQ
Questions this usually raises
Does BlendDesk add anything to these rates?
No. Meta bills your own Meta business account for messages. We never mark that up, never resell it, and never take a cut of it. What BlendDesk charges for its own software is a separate line, on the pricing page.
Why did my marketing messages cost more than my provider quoted?
Most quotes show a global or Indian rate. Meta charges by the recipient's country, and the spread is wide: a marketing message costs $0.0118 to India and $0.0644 to Egypt. Pick your actual market above.
How do I get a message categorised as utility?
Write it as a report on something that already happened or is about to: an order confirmation, a shipping update, an appointment reminder. Meta reviews and categorises the template, so promotional language anywhere in it moves the whole template to marketing.
What is the 24-hour window?
When a customer messages you, a customer service window opens for 24 hours. Inside it you can reply with ordinary messages, which Meta charges as service. Outside it you can only send an approved template.
Is this a quote?
No. It is an estimate of Meta's fees from Meta's own published rate card, and your invoice comes from Meta, not from us. Rates can change on 1 January, 1 April, 1 July or 1 October with a month's notice.
Now make fewer of those messages necessary.
Most of a WhatsApp bill is work that did not need a template: status chases, order questions, confirmations. BlendDesk answers those inside the window, where they cost service rates or nothing at all.
