Two kinds of data
- Data you sent through this website: a demo request or a contact message. We handle these requests directly. See below.
- Data inside a BlendDesk workspace: conversations and contact details that a business handles with BlendDesk, including messages that arrived through WhatsApp, Instagram or Messenger. The business that runs the workspace decides what happens to this data.
Delete what you sent through this website
- Open the contact form.
- Choose “Something else” as the topic and say that this is a data deletion request.
- Include the email address you used, whether you sent a demo request or a contact message, and roughly when, so we can find it.
- We may reply to confirm that the request comes from you before deleting anything.
- When your information has been deleted, we'll let you know by email at the address you used.
You can also send the same details to our contact form.
Each request is handled individually. We don't publish a fixed completion time on this page.
Workspace and customer-conversation data
Businesses use BlendDesk to manage conversations with their customers. In that setting the business decides what is kept and for how long, and BlendDesk handles the data on its behalf.
- If you are a customer of a business that uses BlendDesk and want your conversation deleted, ask that business first. It can remove conversations from its workspace.
- If you are a workspace administrator, you can delete conversations you no longer need from your workspace. To discuss deleting a workspace or its data, or if you need help, contact us and we'll go through the process with you.
Data from WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger
When a business connects WhatsApp, Instagram or Messenger, messages from those channels appear in its workspace. Deleting them in BlendDesk does not delete them on the Meta platforms: you manage your own WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook data in those apps. You can also remove a business's access to your Facebook account from your Facebook settings at any time.
If you want us to help locate a conversation, send us the name of the business, the channel you used, and the name on your profile or the phone number you used, through the contact page.
What may remain
We may need to keep some information where the law requires it, to resolve a dispute, or for security and business records. Backups are overwritten on their regular cycle, so deleted data can remain in a backup for a limited time before it is removed.
